Introduction

Few words to start

Segment is a multidesign theme for any thematic use. Our demo premium content includes several design proposals which can be imported into themes in one click. Design of themes for users is a very friendly environment.

This theme is perfectly compatible with the technology of MultiSite in WordPress. Each design can be easily implemented on another WordPress site.

Theme is available only on ThemeForest.

Requirements & Compatibility

Theme was tested for FireFox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, IE8+. Theme is developed for WordPress 4.1.

Installation

If you want to add theme to your WordPress installation, you can proceed in different ways:

  1. FTP upload -if you are using an FTP client to access files and directories of your WordPress installation, follow these steps:
    • Download the zip archive of Segment segment.zip theme and extract all the files.
    • Using your ftp client upload the extracted folder with name segment of the theme to the directory wp-content/themes/.
  2. Upload a zip file - if you have access to WordPress administration, please follow these steps:
    • When you are logged in your WordPress, go to Appearance » Themes » Add New » Upload Theme and select the zip file segment.zip you downloaded from the ThemeForest and click Install Now button.

After adding themes to the server should be theme yet activated. In the section Appearance » Themes click the Active button on the theme of Segment.

After installing and activating themes need to install/activate the required and recommended plugins. You can do this in WordPress Administration Appearance » Install Plugins

CONGRATULATIONS, your theme is now ready to be used.

How to install theme

Demo Content

Before importing, please install all recommended and required plugins. You can find them in WordPress Aministration parts Appearance » Install Plugins

One Click Demo Install

In the WordPress administration, go to the section Theme Settings » Import Data

Here you can choose what you want to import. The all contents of the data, only content only widgets, or only options.

You can import demo content from our site (with blurred licensed images) with a single click of a button.

If activated Mega Main Menu plugin, it will be necessary re-save form Mega Main Menu in the administration of the Mega Main Menu.

If you want us to import master slider content, follow these steps:

  • download the file from your theme: /segment/inc/designs/items/[ OUR DESIGN ]/default-data/masterslider.json
  • file import into plugin Master Slider.

Import XML File

If you want to import the demo content XML the old-fashioned way, go to the administration of your WordPress Tools » Import (if you have not installed WordPress Importer will have to install it). Here you will see a link to download the XML file with dummy data.

Layout Settings

Do you want to modify some design elements in the theme? Or you want to add custom styles to the theme without the need to intervene in the code?

We have a solution for you. We`ve created this module, which allows you to manage various design elements on your site. ou can easily create your own design example for buttons, tabs, accordions and much more. These settings are linked with Visual Composer plugins, so they can be easily used in your site content.

Background

You can set the primary background image that will appear on your pages. For each individual site, posts or portfolio page, you can edit this file or set not display the background image.

The colors used on your site, you set in this section. You can set the text color or background color.

Breadcrumbs used on your site, you set in this section. You set here also display the Title of your site. You can set any number of proposals. These styles and assign them to the Theme Settings » Theme Options » Page Headline & Breadcrumbs or in the administration of a particular page in the section Page Headline & Breadcrumbs.

Custom Styles

Custom styles used at your site, you set in this section. You can set any number of designs. their use in Visual Composer is very easy. These designs are used in Visual Composer for example at shortcodes Entiri Back To Top, Entiri Icons, Entiri Services.

Theme Options

To access the theme settings click on WordPress admin menu Theme Settings » Theme Options and setting interface will be shown. Setting can be saved by clicking on Save changes.

General Settings

Default admin page

Set the page that is displayed after logging into administration.
Favicon

Upload favicon image with the image uploader or write the url of the image in the text field. Recommended format for favicon is ICO. This image/icon will be displayed as favicon on your website.

Default Menu

On every page you can define the settings menu. Here you can specify default settings. If you have activated the plugin Mega Main Menu so some settings will be ignored.

If you have activated the Mega Main Menu plugin, you can set additional information about this menu. Each item can be subsequently adjusted on a particular page.

All necessary parameters, please first set in the plugin Mega Main Menu.

Perspective Menu

The theme supports the viewing perspective menu. It is a menu that is displayed in beautiful 3D animation. Here you can define Default settings for page perspective view menu. Menu will be show after click an element with ID showPerspectiveMenu. Settings can be adjusted on each page. Learn more in part Perspective View Menu.

Page Headline & Breadcrumbs

You can define your headline title and breadcrumb on the page. These settings include the assignment of display styles, which are defined in the Layout Settings. These settings can be adjusted on a separate page.

Slider Settings

Assigning sliders to the slider design used in the theme. The design is created in the part Layout Settings.

Slider for single post

The selected design will be show in detail post.
Slider for post categories

The selected design will be show in list of categories post.
Slider for detail portfolio

The selected design will be show in portfolio detail.
WooCommerce slider for detail product

The selected design will be show in the shop page for the product detail.

Page Loader

Define method loading pages. While the content of the pages loading, can be viewed pretty loader. There are eight loader spinners with which it is possible to set any color and transparency of the background.

Shop Settings

You can enter contact information to you that will be displayed on site shop in the top menu. Define here the number of products in loop. Assign a layout style for tabs and buttons.

Blog Settings

You define here what you want displayed in the list of posts. Either the all contents or just truncated text.

Pages Settings

Define a base page for your portfolio. Define a base page for your portfolio. Assign default template header and footer. Also specify the default position of the menu.

Contact Form

Theme supports displaying the contact form. Preferences of this form can be performed in this part of theme options.

Contact form status Determines whether to display the form or not. Default value is Active.
E-mail Email address where emails will be send.
Subject Type the subject text to be displayed in the report sent to the address indicated in input by name E-mail.

Newsletter

Theme also supports the newsletter. Its settings can be defined in the Newsletter of the theme options.

Newsletter status Defines whether the newsletter is on your pages or not. Default value is Active i.e. showing.
E-mail Should specify an email address to which you send the newsletter.
Subject for subscriber To specify the subject of the text message that will be sent as a newsletter to subscriber after registration of new subscribe.
Subject for admin To specify the subject of the text message that will be sent as a newsletter to the email address specified in E-mail.
Message for subscriber Is a text box where you can type text messages as appropriate to the content of the newsletter for subscriber.
Message for admin Is a text field where you can enter a text message that notifies the administrator of a new newsletter.

Twitter Feed Settings

Here you set the account to see tweets Twitter. For more information go to the website and log in https://dev.twitter.com/apps/new. Use the data on this page questionnaire items for this form.

Plugins

Plugin can be reached by the administration WordPress Theme section click the Appearance » Install Plugins. Here you will see a list of recommended and required plugins needed for correct running themes.

Plugins are continuously updated along with the update theme. Please install and activate the plugin required prior to import dummy data.

Mega Main Menu

WooCommerce

This plugin is recommended. Please install this plugin before import dummy data only if they will use wooCommerce on your site. For more on this, see the plugin on the official website: www.woothemes.com/woocommerce

Master Slider

This plugin is recommended. Please install this plugin before import dummy data only if it will use the sliders to your site. For more on this, see the plugin on the official website: www.masterslider.com

WP Retina

This plugin is recommended. Please install this plugin before import dummy data only if the images will be used to support the retina.For more on this, see the plugin on the official website: wordpress.org/plugins/wp-retina-2x/

Widgets

Widgets can be administered in Appearance » Widgets.

You can select from a list of the widgets that you want to use with the mouse and drag it to the sidebar whereyou want to view it. Available sidebars are:

  • Page Sidebar – shown in page section, by predefined a particular page
  • Blog Sidebar – shown in blog section, by predefined a particular post
  • Shop Sidebar – shown in wooCommerce section, by predefined a particular shop page
  • Sidebar A - Sidebar L – This Sidebars can be freely used in the content of the pages using plugin Visual Composer

Using drag & drop in the sidebar you can move the display order of widgets on your site.
To edit the properties of Widget, click the arrow in the upper right corner of the widget.
To save the adjustments done to the widget, click Save.
To remove a widget, you can do so by clicking on Delete in particular widget.

How to add a widget into page

If you want us to add the widget to your site, you must first assign to the sidebar. He then you can add on different ways:

Pages

In WordPress select Pages » Add new and the interface for adding a new page will display. When creating a website it is important to properly select the item template.

Default Template

Page with this template is displayed as plain text entered in editor for creating website.

Single Site Screen

Menu Options

These settings are the values that are defined in the Theme Settings » Theme Options in section Default Menu or Mega Main Menu. You can overwrite these values for a particular page.

  • Include header – If you want us to add to the page header section created in Headers. Header menu can be placed before or after the menu. It is used to check Show header before the menu?
    Administration Headers can be found at WordPress menu Headers.
  • Include footer – If you want us to add to the page footer section created in Footers.
    Administration Footers can be found at WordPress menu Footers.
  • Show Sidebar – this defines where to display. If you select left or right, you`ll see a choice on the sidebar.

Creation Single Site Screen

Single site can be created in two different ways.

Creation using page template

To properly create a single site, follow these steps:

  • Select a template page Single Site Screen
    Select Single Site Screen template
  • Activate the Visual Composer in the creation of this page

  • Add New element - Row
    Start with Visual Composer
    Activated Element Row in your page content
  • If you want part of the text pages included in the section Single site, set the appropriate Row set Single site

    After entering the name of the section that is automatically assigned to the Row menu for Single Site. If the name is not specified, the anchor is not created for the Single Site menu.

    In the event that you wish to create a position for a Single Site menu but it has to be a reference to an external line, enter the link

Creation using WordPress Menu

Portfolio

View portfolio to your site can by using Portfolio shortocode.

Select Portfolio in Visual Composer list of shortcodes.

Create Portfolio Category

In WordPress administration go to Portfolio » Portfolio Category.

Inside box called Name enter the name of the category. This category will then appear in the actual creation of the portfolio in Portfolio Category. This way you can add as many categories as you need.

To create portoflio you need to go to WordPress and then section Portfolio » Add new.
When creating portfolio following options can be set:

  • Title
  • Description – you can use shortcodes here.
  • Page Options – global page settings. Learn more Page Options
  • Images – in order to correctly display the portfolio on your site it is necessary to assign his image. This is possible through the Images.
  • Menu Options – global menu options. Learn more Menu Options
  • Excerpt – It is a short text that describes the portfolio. This text will appear in the list of portfolios when passing over an image that is assigned to portfolio

Create New Post

When creating new post following options can be set:

  • Title – name of post
  • Description – you can use shortcodes here
  • Post Options
    • Enter the size
      Items portfolio is indicated by the isotope. Here you can define what should be the width of a specific image portfolio. You can specify the width of 1-6 columns.
    • Show Sidebar
      In detail post to display selected Sidebar. This defines where to display. Left, right, or do not show.
  • Post Type – 3 options available
    1. Images – images that will be displayed inside slider
    2. Share source – insert embed code from external source
    3. Or you don’t have to use any of the above options
  • Menu Options – global menu options. Learn more Menu Options

  • Each created post should be included into categories that are under Categories. Thus, users will easily find various posts.
